Activities for Social Cohesion
Social cohesion among members of any community is one of the most essential requirements for development and progress.
Because of the importance of solidarity among minorities and the majority in society, this subject has gained significant value in developed nations.
The values hidden in social cohesion go far beyond ethnic or kinship bonds.
As members of society, we must accept that we have responsibilities that go beyond ourselves and our families.
Every program that strengthens collective empathy and social harmony helps society move toward sustainable development.
In Austria today, much of the focus on social integration is centered around introducing and enforcing legal and civic rules.
However, for real cultural harmony, we must also create programs that give identity and dignity to immigrants — our guests in this society.
Since its foundation, the Katib Cultural and Sports Center has dedicated itself to creating identity beyond ethnicity.
Over the years, the center has carried out numerous activities, including:
- Persian Language Education
- German and Mathematics Courses
- Sewing and Tailoring Workshops
- Employment Workshops (in collaboration with AMS and WKO)
- Youth Political Education and Visits to Austrian Parliament
- Cultural Events such as “Swiss Garden Festival” and participation in SPÖ carnivals
These efforts were not limited to defending the rights of Afghan communities but also aimed at connecting with other nationalities — practicing coexistence and empathy.
We believe that to live successfully in a multicultural society, we must work beyond our national and ethnic identities and participate in building a respectful and understanding community.
We continue to organize programs on occasions such as International Women’s Day and World Children’s Day, promoting peace, cooperation, and shared humanity.
We welcome every idea that supports these noble goals.
Let us go beyond ourselves and our nationalities.
